Additional reward idea for the new Delve boss - Abyssal Bardiche
With there lots back and forths for the new Delve boss I wanted had an idea of my own I wanted to share! Complete with sketch for reference.
This (furthest to the right) is the Abyssal Bardiche, an item created by combining the Abyssal Bludgeon, Abyssal Dagger and a new item from the boss - The Demonic Core.
Combining these creates a new (Primarily) crush and stab weapon (interchange attack styles) that fills the gap between the bludgeon and the Inquisitors mace in a similar vein that the Nox Halberd fills the gap between Tent Whip and Saeldor. Stats would be similar to that of the Nox halberd but for crush, obviously.
An idea for the special attack of this is inspired by the Sunlight Spear from Leagues VI. It charges up 1 attack on each hit before releasing an attack similar to that of the Abyssal sire's explosion that hits targets around, and potentially multiple hits on larger targets! The damage of this I haven't really thought about how it would be calculated, but being able to shoot 100s in all directions would probably be overkill...
I always appreciate the idea of upgrading existing items as it keeps a lot of items in the game relevant as well as bosses in this instance. I also very much like the idea of the rewards so far however, if this is designed to be a proper end game boss I'd love to see more solid rewards to go with it. I think this finds a good balance of keeping the old relevant, keeping the new relevant and above all else, make it feel rewarding along with the rest of the possible rewards.
I'd love to hear some additional thoughts on this, but also if someone could RuneScape-ify it I'd also love to see that!
