Fissures are normal (let me explain)
It is okay to get fissures. Not huge ones that debilitate you and cripple you, that’s not what I’m talking about, but if you have a BM here and there with some blood streaking your stool and the toilet paper that doesn’t debilitate you or affect your quality of life and clears up in a few days or is a one-off, that’s perfectly fine. It’s when they last weeks or months on end and prevent you from living your life that you should take action. I’ve realized from the really awful ones I had that I’ve had these my entire life and I’ve been…totally fine honestly. Didn’t even know what they were or paid any attention to them and they were all minor as I described in that they cleared up in a few days and I was living my life as I was before, during, and after them. Just some mild discomfort when going to the restroom, if that. I get that if you’re here you likely don’t have minor ones but if it truly is once a month or twice a month and you have a minor one like I described and it doesn’t negatively affect your life, you’re perfectly fine and will be alright, trust me, I survived many, many years just like that and will survive many, many more like that. If you’re prone to getting them you’ll just get them, that’s just life. All you can do is your best, keep the area clean without driving yourself insane, and relax to let everything heal. Here’s to health and happiness for all, from someone who’s had agonizing and huge ones to small and hardly painful ones (just had a recurrence today after about a month and a half without and not worried in the least)
