Help Identifying black growth

I have a tank with some mystery snails, rabbit snails, and mystery fish that I think may be rice fish (they just appeared one day) and I noticed a black ball growing at the tip of the driftwood. There’s more on the back side, that look like small clumps of eggs of some sort but I’m not entirely sure.
