Why does Arc require an account/email?

I really like the browser and have been using it for a while, but I still find the requirement of an account and email to be very sus, it's not in beta anymore, if I'm correct.

I've looked at different threads asking the same question in the past and found no answer to this hence why I'm making a new one. For the 'non tech savvy' of you that don't understand why it's a problem: they could easily track everything that you do and collect your data, knowingly it's specifically from you.
