Weapon question

Ive been using the bow pretty much since starting the game and I’ve enjoyed the bow because of stutter stepping. I just forged a legendary spear though and I’m wondering if it would be better to go forward with the spear or if stutter stepping with the bow would do better damage. Just wanting to make sure before I fuse them.
