How do you lads rationalise Christmas?

The modern day commercialised Christmas revolves heavily around a wintery theme. It sprouted out of mostly German or north American traditions, with a trickle of the rest of Europe.

These are all places where Christmas falls close to the middle of the winter and right after the shortest day in the year. In fact, it is possible that Christmas is celebrated on December 25th at all simply because early Christians wanted to associate it to the pagan Roman festival "Saturnalia".

So the question came up in my mind, how do you Aussies cope with the fact that Christmas happens right around the warmest time of the year, when days are longest? Do you plant Christmas trees and wintery decorations around anyway, while gentlemen nearly die of heat stroke in red wollen coats with over 30° weather? Or did you largely adapt the holiday and gave it customs and traditions that are more appropriate to your down-under seasons?
