Brexit and Trump Trade Policy?

There was a question on this sub recently that asked Brexiters whether they thought it was a success. I have a more forward-looking question:

Do you think the UK is better able to respond to Trump’s tariffs and trade policies because of Brexit, or would it have been better to be in this position as part of the EU?

Like the other poster, I’m not from the UK. This is simply an honest question that I’d like to hear different perspectives on.

EDIT: Thank you all for the responses so far. I appreciate being able to listen in on so many thoughtful comments.

Here’s a reciprocal question if anyone wants to weigh in: Do you think the EU is in a better position to negotiate (or fight) a trade war without the UK as a member?
