Why would someone leave beer outside with unwanted furniture?

So walking home I pasted some unwanted furniture the owners left outside the house. An old chair etc. amongst this were 2 cans of Budweiser. I took them and cleaned them. They are still sealed with no penetration holes or anything. In date still. Why not just bin them? Would you drink them? Is it safe?
