Update on my new car acquisition journey

So continuing on my last post. I’m in negotiations with a nearby dealer for Virtus GT Plus Sport DSG in black. However they don’t have color black in stock.

Salesman is saying that I need to make booking first (Rs 50,000) and then he’ll place order and only after that he will let me know the final discounted price.

He’s saying since the car is not in stock so he cannot discuss any discounts. Only after I make booking.

Right now he’s saying he’ll get me 50k off on on-road price of 22,36,433 and maybe an additional 20k. I’m pushing to get a full 1 lakh off.

I want your views on the booking issue, is it true I need to make booking first to get final quotation? And isn’t the booking amount a lot?
