Is the preferred even worth keeping

First off, the portal through chase is terrible and everything is marked up like crazy. This essentially makes the $50 hotel credit useless because I’m paying more through the portal anyway.

Second, it seems like if I cash my points it’s cheaper to buy flights directly through the airline rather than use the points on the portal.

I know Hyatt is their biggest partner and while the Hyatt deals seem cool, it’s still cheaper to just get an Airbnb.
