When is it ok to take painkillers? Since it’s… chronic?

Hi! I have whole body aches since a loooong ass time. I was wondering , can i take pain meds or when can i? Like tonight i am incredibly exhausted and my body is just all over sore and a little achy including a headache. Is this pain killer worthy? I am really scared of getting addicted to meds.
