“I’m going to defend my baby”
Okay… these stories have reminded me of something that happened when I was maybe 8 years old. We were visiting my Aunt who, at the time, had a giant Malamute who basically resembled a wolf. I had always had a fear of dogs and this dog would always growl at me and frighten me. This time, however, it tried to bite me. I started crying and having a panic attack. Everyone kept saying “he wasn’t actually going to bite you, it was a defensive thing” WHO TF CARES??? Then, later on, they release the fucking thing in the backyard and its coming at me RUNNING. I start yelling, and my aunt gets mad and says “Sorry, I’m going to defend my baby. He’s just trying to say hi” which made me feel like I was being the asshole when I was just a frightened child. Needless to say I’ve been put after dogs by my own family. Years later they get another dog with temperament issues that was biting my elderly grandfather. Finally my grandpa says “he better stop biting me or I’m going to kick him” and my aunt got mad at HIM. Then for the holidays they’ve invited their dogs, fed them from the DINNER TABLE and given them leftover food that could be going to HUMAN BEINGS. I refuse to be in the same room with their dogs, not only because I dislike dogs, but I dislike how they handle them. Family and their safety should always be a number one priority. 😀
