Tilapia Star Path task: Back but...easier?

Working through the star path, and made it to catching tilapia on the plateau. Two things I noticed: it's only 6 this time around, so better than 10, and carp are counting somehow? I just completed the task after only catching 1 tilapia. Hope this is happening for others, I know a lot of people struggled with this task last star path.
