Possible automimicry in golden stonefly larvae?
Hello entomology reddit! I was looking at a picture of a golden stonefly larva online, and noticed that the two dark markings at its rear, accompanied by its long pair of cornicles and fuzzy filaments, seemed a lot like an approximation of a head. I know next to nothing about stoneflies and their behaviors, but what's the possibility of automimicry in these guys? It's probably a coincidence, but my curious heart is a restless beast.
