Trying to do the right thing

Hi y’all, looking for some genuine advice here. I am a single dog lover that has been debating getting a dog for 4-5 years. I work in consulting and travel 1-2x a month usually about 3-4 days at a time. I have paid a deposit with a breeder for a summer mini GD litter but have cold feet. I know this will be a major lifestyle change which I have accepted but I am anxious/worried that my work travel might be too much and be bad for the pup. Anyone ever been in a similar situation and have thoughts? Any recommendations on how to make this work?
