If you're hesitant to start due to possible side effects…

Avoid greasy foods! Before starting my own journey, I followed influencers for years, and many warned that people get extremely sick from eating fried, greasy, and ultra-processed foods.

I have generalized anxiety disorder, which causes daily bloating, constipation, or diarrhea. Because of this, I’m very mindful of when and what I eat to avoid discomfort in public (though anxiety meds have helped with this).

Before my first semaglutide shot, I ate a bag of potato chips, and it felt like a rock in my stomach for the rest of the day. After that, I switched to grilled or air-fried meats, leafy greens (I love kale!), and fruits—and I no longer experience stomach-related side effects.

Now, whenever I hear stories of people dealing with extreme nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, it’s often because they ate greasy fast food, Chinese takeout, or heavily processed meals. While this won’t apply to everyone, avoiding the foods they warn about can make a huge difference in your experience.
