Working while sober

Hello folks, looking for strategies on how to not make enemies/lose my job while sober. Just accepted a new KM position at a lovely restaurant, one I've actually eaten at a few times for once. The only problem is I have no money or anything to smoke until I get my first cheque from this place, which will lead to me being significantly stressed. This wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't an addict, but alas, I'm not perfect. I'm trying to better my life, but am worried my lack of oversight will cause erratic behaviors that may lead to me being fired. I'm a hard worker, I show respect and dignity to others at all times, but I'm going to also be fairly twitchy and spaced out, not exactly stellar traits to have as a new employee. Anybody else been in this sort of situation before? Any good tips, phrases to use, etc.? Anything helps!
