Hair Mask Fail 😭

I bought this mask on a whim last weekend because I wanted to branch out of my usual Shea Moisture deep conditioners.

I used it for the first time last night and sadly, it provided absolutely NO slip… when I slathered it on the first section, my hair started to tangle and felt so dry?? It was like the moisture was being sucked out my hair as I was working it in. I was so confused because it smelled really nice at first, so in my mind that means it’s more likely to be effective (lies, I know).

Does anyone know what ingredients to look out for in a deep conditioner to make sure it has a good amount of slip? I wonder if there’s something in this formula that caused the dry feeling, but maybe this just wasn’t made for my hair…

Also curious if anyone has used this with success? I would hate to throw it out, but this had the audacity to tangle my already detangled hair, which I don’t understand, so I may have no choice lol.

My hair is fine, medium porosity, and fairly dense type 4.
