Solenoid problem

Im sorry to bother you guys but it seems I've ran into a problem. I'm looking to give my rayven a solenoid semi/full auto feature and I'm following Captain Xavier's tutorial on how to do it with no arduino, just by using a light blinker. The problem is I've already burned 4 of them and can't figure out why. All the pieces have the correct rating, but somehow It seems like something is not going right. If anyone has worked with solenoids before and can enlighten me, It would be highly appreciated
