Authors’ weird taste

What is the reason for authors to make womanizer MLs? And most of the time FLs arent bothered with this fact and they dont even mention or talk about it even in historical settings which is being one consired as a taboo,like yeah my husband fucked all the women in the empire I’m happy with that. for example why not someone who had relationships in the passe that didnt work out but always one prick who bedded all the women in the whole kingdom or city and is proud of this fact? Like these type of romance stories don’t convince me, I don’t believe that their love is sincere.
