Helping child play less messy
Ever since my son could play, he has never played with toys in the intended way. He dumps everything out everywhere! He’s very imaginative about the “mess play”. Sometimes it’s a “flooded basement”, other times it’s a “car packed to go to papa’s house” or a “mountain”. To me it is an epic mess. He’s 4m and a bit on the hyperactive side. Is it possible to get a child like this to focus and play with a few toys? Or do a puzzle start to finish? Maybe play with the wooden trucks instead of pile them all up into a giant mess? It drives me crazy! No matter how many times I play with him and show him what things can do, his favorite game remains the huge pile of everything. I’ve started making him clean up for a while now, but he still likes to make messes. Sometimes it is literally every toy he has in a giant pile and then he “mixes” them and everything flies everywhere. Advice? 😭
