One of those cursed projects. What are my options?
This has been one of those classic “easy projects that has spiraled and continues to do so give-a-mouse-a-cookie style.
The bathroom sink shutoffs were leaking. Cool, replaced them. Then realized there was a pinhole leak in the j bend. Replaced it. Then realized that the end of the wall bend was too degraded to make a good seal with the J bend. Fine I’ll replace that too….
But when I pulled out the wall bend, I now realize it was a custom solder job, (second picture) since the drain is just a couple inches too far to the right.
What can I do? I can’t do some crazy elbow magic like with PVC right? Do I need to rip it all out and start over with PVC? Would that mean replacing the brass drain pipe as well?
