Adjusted top 10 favorites...who's yours?
Taking into account pure objective performance...this list obviously doesn't work but it's my favorites and I have reasons
Explanation:
- Harding/reagan -if you praise silent cal then harding deserves some level of praise as well as he was the one who inspired coolidges's ideology and was very progressive socially for his time and spoke out against many injustices of the era like lynching etc
Reagan ,this is probably the most controversial president on this sub but there's no doubt he was a force to be reckoned with and was extremely popular by any standards
- Clinton/hoover -regardless of your political affiliation...there's no doubt clinton was a really great president compared to many others and the 90s was a great time
Hoover-had a terrible presidency but was an honorable man who can be considered one of the greatest modern philanthropists, his work before and after his presidency is incredible
8.teddy-not much explanation needed here
Jfk-i think he was a great guy who's time was cut short ,he did some questionable things but his social ideas were phenomenal for the time
Taft- only man to be the head of two branches of government
Gerald ford- a man who had very little agenda and served the country reasonably in an unstable period
carter - questionable presidency with errors but overall, one of the most honorable men to have been president
Lincoln - in an objective list...he is no 1 and I don't think much explanation is needed gere here
Coolidge - the American enigma ,one of the most successful president's with little controversies and a very unique ideology,in an objective list,he can be in top 7
Grant - probably the most honorable person ever to have been president...came from utter poverty and died almost penniless with his reputation being eroded by his haters
was the first "openly non racist president".....enforced Reconstruction, destroying the Klan, pushing for the 15th amendment, and signing the Civil Rights Act of 1875. Grant definitely took a courageous stand in favor of black rights and against racism and oppression.
