Around ch 800. Quick doubt

I am at the ch where sunny leaves for antartica. He gives the soul serpent to his sister. So is he nerfed now without the soul essence control of the serpent? Will nephis be even more ahead of him now? Cause it was cool in the beginning but right now sunny is always lagging wayyyy behind 😭
