Why did EA drop battlefront 2?

I recently got into battlefront….OMG can’t believe I’ve slept on this for so long but I can’t help to wonder why did EA drop this. The community is very active , sure PC mods go crazy but I see that the characters are half complete? Does anyone know why EA dropped this?
