Things I’ve learnt from 15 years of stretching

Hello, this is just a quick summary of things I’d of wanted to know when I started 15 years ago. If one person finds this useful it was worth my time typing this. I’ve experienced blow outs, splits, infections, in-bedding, everything except complete lobe separation. I’ve stretched both my ears in unison 4 separate times. Up to a maximum of 26mm which I believe is my comfortable max for my anatomy anything past that would be dangerous. I don’t have the biggest stretchers but I think I’ve got a lot of experience in this very niche part of the body modification world.

1) goes without saying TAKE YOUR TIME:- your ears are for life, stretching your ears is a marathon not a sprint. We all want to get to the next size but infections, rips and blow outs don’t look cool. (They are also incredibly painful)

2) lobe training:- letting your ears shrink down occasionally is important for healthy and thick lobes. I’m currently wearing 20mm lobes down from a max of 26mm, it allows your ears to recover, thicken up and be more healthy. You’ll also find that stretching back up gets easier and easier as you train your ears. Take them out occasionally and let them breath.

3) keep them moisturised:- this is one I admittedly am not very good at and have little knowledge on but keeping your ears from going dry is very important to prevent injury, improve appearance and aid in stretching.

4) Maintaining your ears:- understanding that when you’ve stretched your ears particularly when you are in the larger sizes its very important to take care of them. even people who have had stretchers for years can experience issues. Keep them clean, keep them moisturised and keep an eye on them. Your ears aren’t meant to be stretched biologically and sometimes your body does funky things.

5) avoid stretch up when you aren’t well. If your body is busy fighting an illness you are more susceptible to infections if anything goes wrong when sizing up.

I hope this helped someone. If I think of anything else I’ll edit it. If you have any thoughts I’m happy to hear them. If you think I’m an idiot, let me know. Cheers everyone, have a great day.
