Taigun 1.0 AT Observations nd Questions regarding Upshifts, Driving Modes and FE

My vehicle is about a month old with 1600 km on odometer so fairly new. I recently noticed the system upshifts at 1900-2000 RPM in D mode and at around 2200 in the S mode. Is this the same for other members of the 1.0 AT?

Further, is it safe to do the following: - Changing modes amongst D/S/M while the accelerator is pressed? - Upshifting with paddle shifters while accelerating? (I know it may sound dumb but my first automatic)

What are your recommmeded best practices in playing with Driving Modes and use of paddle shifters? I use paddle shifters for overtakes/shifting at 1500 RPM/engine breaking. I like using S mode for quickly escaping once the signal turns green.

I generally drove the car in D mode and got efficiency of 9-13kmpl in the NCR mixed traffic, towards the heavier side.

Recently, after noticing the upshifting behaviour in the D mode, I tried upshifting using paddle shifters at 1500RPM which has increased the FE by 2-3kmpl and I was able to touch figures of 16-17 even after bad traffic (36psi - winters + XP95). For cruise control also I try to lock the speed of 65-70 (or more) at D6 by manually upshifting after the system has achieved the speed as it generally stays at D5.

Please share more use case scenarios/observations/comments for the different modes and paddle shifter uses, I would love to learn more.
