I’m interested in the WGU pre-licensure nursing program. I have no prior medical experience. Anyone else?
So I currently work in a position where, when I’m at work, I have a lot of free time (like a firefighter). I also get plenty of days off outside of my shift. Because of this, I am interested in getting education to change careers (or at least have future job security).
I have been interested in nursing, specifically WGU’s nursing program. It’s the only program that seems like it will actually fit with my unique job schedule.
However, I have never worked a day of my life in the medical field. I’ve learned some about the nursing profession, but I have no idea what it is like. I am concerned that I won’t know what I am getting myself into if I start this program. Is it dumb of me to jump right into working towards a career without knowing what it is like?
Also, I already have a bachelors degree in aviation, so I am not concerned about the actual process of earning a degree.
Edit: I also do know that I live in a state where the program is available
