I think I fell out of love from this franchise

I'm a pretty old gamer, almost played every assassin's creed except mirage which I'm currently playing, but to tell you the truth it's not the same anymore.

I started my journey with revelations actually, when that trailer came out, I was crazy for the game, I kinda watched my brother playing brotherhood but with the aesthetics and theme revelations reminded me of warrior within 😅 (best prince of Persia ngl)

I think the attraction to the series for me was just the power fantasy of it, the counter attack animations were sick, the way you rose in rank in AC1, experiencing ezio's journey in 2 brotherhood and finally Revelations, and then Connor's feriousity in AC3, it all was amazing, and then black flag came, a culmination of everything before it. Exploring these characters lives was fun. That being the core element of it. Fun.

Unity is a beautiful game, but we cannot deny it had faults, the graphics were amazing but bugs really ruined the first impression. Years later, playing it now, I do believe ubisoft had the perfect formula right there but they wasted it. Syndicate was like a bandage on the wound. Truth be told, I did like the setting and combat, but the story faltered.

Origins was a breath of fresh air, with the way they advertised it. A journey of revenge for Bayek of siwa, and the formation of the assassins. Gameplay was good and unique, although a bit grindy at times but bearable and apart from that a really solid entry for the franchise.

Then Odyssey and Valhalla came... I think that really did it for me. The gameplay, story, and especially the grind. That made me lose love.

I realised the part of the thing I liked was totally gone, replaced by 60 hour grind fest campaigns that were supposed to be 20-30 hour stories at the most. I guess I'm not the target audience anymore and it's time for me to move on, sooner or later.

With shadows coming soon, my only expectation is that hopefully it's just a fun game, nothing more nothing less. If it fails, ig it's the end of the road for me as an assassins creed fan

I love to hear your thoughts on all of this fellow brothers and sisters. My favourite game of all time is prototype 1, so you could probably judge me on that 😅
