More Balance or More Difficulty?

We've seen a chunk of discussion about balance lately, especially blue seals and photo-chad.

Does Balatro really need more balance overall? Or is it that those players who are in the end game have gotten so good that what THEY need is more difficulty.

Most Roguelikes have some OP combos that make it so newer players can go on a tear. And that often ends up showing newer players a key insight or strategy.

I don't think Photo-chad is OP overall. I think it's OP when you have all of the other basic skills down. If I see either Chad or Photograph I likely have the econ to find the other. But it took me a while to get my play skills to the point where that was true.

What I really feel would solve balance issues is a "Platinum" stake. Where all Jokers are perishable. Which means anything OP is going to go away. This would reinvigorate things for top tier players and open up Completionist+++.

Or... add a significant quantity of new Jokers which would dilute the chance of getting any specific combo.
