All the characters in Big Bang are insufferable people. All. Of. Them. Here’s why I wouldn’t be friends with them.
Sheldon: do I really need to explain myself?
Leonard: his puppy dog codependency is smothering. His petty treatment toward petty is childish. As much shit as he gives Sheldon for being immature you’d think he’d act like an adult in an adult relationship but he acts like a teenager. Once he gets with penny you’d think his confidence would go up- but his inability to recognize when he isn’t in a healthy relationship is frustrating to watch, and be around.
Penny: Her treatment of Leonard throughout their relationship- not even as a couple- just as people who know each other is blatantly parasitic. She also does not make enough effort to comfort Leonard and tackle his insecurity.
Howard: Sleaze. Basically the Penny monologue. She nailed it. His relationship with Raj is emotional cheating on Bernadette. The whole astronaut thing. He’s pathetic.
Raj: Spoiled brat. He puts whatever new relationship in front of his friends. His insistence on involving himself in Howard’s marriage life is a big part of this. He can’t be alone. Don’t know why; he spent most of his life that way.
Amy: Her fixation on sex in a relationship she knew ahead of time to be predicated on everything but that, is really unfair to Sheldon. And I rag on Sheldon but in his eq- he is a child, Amy seems to accept this- then Sheldon literally never hears the end of it. If you think men can’t be pressured- look at this relationship and swap the genders. You’ll be disgusted. She also in whatever serious capacity demonstrates this behavior toward penny.
Bernadette: She has a lack of physical intimidation so she makes up for it by being an asshole to her colleagues, and belittling her husband to feel powerful. She’s a bully. Period.
This is the main cast. If you wanna posit a refutation I’m all ears but these are my personal reasons that I’d never be friends with any of these characters except for maybe Leonard.
Bonus- Stuart: this is more of a writing irk than anything else. In the beginning Stuart has some redeemable qualities. He’s running his own business, he’s a good artist. That all gets butchered once he started showing up randomly for no additional reason but to be made fun of. Made him largely uninteresting.
