Getting my blood pressure down

Started a relatively low dose of bupropion a few months back and I'm happy with the results. Anxiety way down and I actually have energy!

A few hiccups but the only real negative so far is that my blood pressure shot up as soon as I started on it.

I'm in my 50s and my BP has been creeping up the last few years but it went up a lot after starting the 100SR.

For one week we tried 150XR and it went even higher. Went back to 100SR and it went back a little, but still too high.

I had already been meditating 2 x a day before starting meds. It helps for my anxiety but does nothing for my BP.

About a month ago I started exercising regularly. Minimum 30 minutes on a bike every single day. Legs are doing great! But no change in BP.

So last week I decided to cut my sodium intake. I've never been sensitive to it before but wanted to try everything before going to BP meds.

Well, 24 hours lower sodium and my BP was down. Few days later and my systolic has gone down 15-20 pts. Dystolic is still higher than I want but also went down like 10 pts. I mean, thats pretty freaking big!

So I'm googling bupropion and sodium to see if it causes sensitivity for some people and it looks like it causes low sodium levels in some? Seems like the opposite of me.

I'm guessing its just that I've become sensitive to sodium with age and the bupropion raising my BP was separate from that, but cutting down the one BP problem (sodium) made the other BP problem (bupropion) not matter as much.

I have a doc appointment in 2 weeks and will ask her but meanwhile wanted to see if anyone here had anything like this.
