What’s an example of an automaker downplaying something in marketing?

I was looking for trucks recently, and I noticed that on the current Silverado, GM really tries not to call out the ones that have the base 2.7-liter 4-cylinder. The window sticker says “TurboMax,” and that’s how it’s branded everywhere, including in the search filter on the dealer’s website.

Whereas they go out of their way to call out the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines, especially as Stellantis and Toyota have recently stopped selling their trucks with V8s.

Whether GM is right or wrong to do this, I can very easily see uninformed customers not realizing their newly purchased truck has a 4-cylinder.

What’s another example of an automaker downplaying a controversial aspect of one of its cars?
