I started an accident with a pileup of over 30 vehicles
Before I tell the story one must understand the layout of the road. It was a long straight road (similar to a highway). On the left hand side was a very, VERY sharp 180 degree turn meant for people from a different road to merge into the main one.
Anyway, I was a very inexperienced driver and had only driven on a couple occasions, and this was one of my first times driving by myself with no one else in the vehicle. I was on the main road and incredibly confused on where I was going as I had no directions.
Now, I’m not sure how or why I did it, but my dumbass somehow decided to take the 180 degree turn. The only possible reason I may have taken that route is there was no one in my visible line of sight from the main road. I am still unsure how exactly I made it, because from the main road it would have been nearly impossible to make a turn that sharp (it was very narrow for whatever reason and my vehicle was mere inches from both sides). I could probably try that a hundred times now and still miss it.
Anyhow, I took the turn and quickly realized that I had really fucked up. There was a bridge up ahead and as I was approaching it, I could see a huge amount of vehicles coming from one end, but the tunnel was very short. I tried to swerve into the side of the tunnel, but I was quickly hit by the car in the front.
Fortunately, since I tried to hit the side, the vehicle had turned so that the collision was a t-bone rather than a head on collision. After that, over thirty other vehicles crashed into each other as a direct result of my dumbass decision. I’m still surprised it took thirty vehicles before people were able to slam on the breaks. To this day nobody knows I was the one who started the crash.
Thankfully the amusement park employees were able to get the go-karts back in order and get everything back to running smoothly, and no go-karts were damaged because those vehicles were hella durable.
