As a completely new player, what were your biggest roadblocks in Dark Souls/Soulsborne?
Speaking as someone who quit at the villager mob in Bloodborne, their first game in the franchise ever, and didn't come back until 4 YEARS later to nearly clear the entire game, including DLCs, in about 5 months, what were some of your biggest roadblocks in the game?
Coming from me, I feel there's a ton of mundane stuff in between the obvious stuff (bosses, etc.) that get overlooked.
For example, those 10+ random hollows chilling in the room before the Bell Gargoyles in Dark Souls 1 caused me to lose souls more than once, since messing up the timing on their wild swings means you get hit twice by what may be 4-5 hollows at a time.
The boar miniboss of the Undead Parish gate stopped me for a while, and the spellcaster miniboss in the chapel rafters hits you with greatly damaging spells in a fight with 3 very mobile enemies.
The two crossbowmen on top of the tower facing the Taurus demon fight also poise broke me at bad times (and also taught me how bosses can have unforeseen aid).
The bat-wing demons right before the infamous Anor Londo archers hit surprisingly hard for average enemies at that point in the game, made worse by how they also have covering shots from aforementioned archers and a ranged attack.
The massive horde of villagers that was the first big Bloodborne encounter blocked me even before the Cleric Beast and taught the pain of runbacks before you even got to a boss.
Amygdala before I realized you were supposed to go for the head (when beforehand literally all the Soulsborne games had conditioned you that on a big boss you should hit the legs).
Sen's funhouse.
What were your roadblock moments throughout all the games?
