Beginner progression

I started playing in December and have 15 rounds under my belt. My first round was +30 and I've chipped away at it to a best of +12. No clue how difficult my local course is compared to others, but it feels good to be trending in the right direction.

It seems like everyone on here throws at least 300'. If I throw my 7 speed fairway driver and 5 speed mid-range near 200' I feel pretty good about it. How did getting up to 300' look for you? Was it a slow progression over time just getting more and more reps, without even realizing it you were hitting 300'? Or did something click for you and there were jumps from 200' to 250' to 275' etc.?

Also - how long did it take for you to play 'par' on the course you most frequent?

Not trying to get lost in comparison, I realize everyone is different, different progression, different goals, etc. Just trying to get a feel for things.

Thanks!
