I can’t understand the Kelee Ringo doubt
After a year where the defense completely changed after starting young rookie corners, you don’t think starting another young corner is worth a shot? One that is a 1% of 1% athlete?
Just a fourth round pick so he has to be trash right? Josh Sweat was a fourth rounder, seems like he was pretty good.
Feels like it’s a repeat of all the people who said Nolan Smith, Nakobe Dean (3rd round btw) would be a bust, but played at a high level once they started getting lots of reps.
People say he’s not ready but if not now when? Has there ever been a better situation to learn for a corner in the NFL? He has been in a DB room with All-Pros (Slay, Bradberry), 2 DROY candidates (Mitchell, DeJean), and now has DC Vic Fangio. I mean does he need to do a 4 year bachelor’s degree in the NFL for people to think he is “ready”?
Obviously Eagles should get back depth at the corner position, but I don’t understand why not to give Ringo a chance if the staff believe in him. Maybe it’s a case like Devin White or Rashaad Penny where they aren’t getting reps for a reason but it’s hard to think that’s the case when they are 22 years old with his traits and tape that shows potential. And the Eagles had depth at CB contesting starts.
It just feels like all history shows starting Ringo could work.
