$20.50 an hour still isn’t enough

24M, going on 25 this year. Got what people would consider a “good job” hybrid remote, get paid $20.50 an hour but I still have no money leftover after bills. I feel like I’m going nowhere fast. Even with 40 hour work weeks i don’t make enough to have anything to show for it. I can’t do overtime because my job tells us to avoid working overtime so I can’t increase my earning potential and during the off-season I only get 20-30 hours a week if I’m lucky.

I’ve been looking into starting a side hustle or just trying to find a better paying job altogether. I’ve always been into computers and tech, but with my lack of education I can only go so far so I’m thinking of switching it up and doing something more with my hands wether that includes computers or not I don’t care anymore. But every time I try and “think” of what I can do, I just get stuck in a loop and can’t ever narrow anything down because of the infinite amount of options there are to choose from, and I end up wasting my days “researching” other endeavors. I really just want to find something I wouldn’t mind doing, that pays enough to have a little money to save up after my bills. At the rate I’m going I’ll never be able to move out of this apartment and start a family.

So for those of you who found a way, how did you do it? What advice would you give to me on finding my own path? What can I do right now, today, to get my life on track.

EDIT: Yes I was stupid and got a fat car payment 2 years ago, used my credit cards to pay bills until I got another job so now I have credit card debt. If I would have done things right $20 would be a lot more manageable. But let’s be honest. $20 still isn’t enough lol.
