Let's admit it. The cancellation is actually good for the whole football sim scene

First of all, i played the damn game from CM 03 (i'm sure i played the game earlier. I think it's DOS game where Zidane was still in Juventus). I've tasted almost every year of their release. Yes, i'm ancient. And i admit my mistake. I bought the game year after year, especially after i have my own income.

Okay, it's not just about SIgames. Think about it. Every year, we got this "patch" that only alter the gameplay a bit. These companies man... They just made these games for their annual reports. Adding "new feature" like player roles where you need to play them with specific hard-code players, waiting years until some new football terms came out to the surface with sophisticated name like Raumdeuter, Segundo Volante, can't you just made the free role where we (players) make up our own role? where do you run? what will you do when the team has the ball? and so on?

What justify them to release yearly patch with "new and updated database". We got great modders who worked tirelessly to update the transfer window. They even created 2003/2004 football golden age era database. This is the same culture those lazy AAA devs like Bethesda, 2K do. Let the modders fix up their mistake free of charge while they get our money releasing "finished" product. I could create an essay to list all stuffs to show why we don't even need yearly release.

Now let's compare it with "old" game, Path of Exile. SI could just follow the business model really. The game was updated numerous times, we can feel the actual change of the game, and it's worth it. Why can't these companies follow this model. Name it Football Manager Legacy or something.

You need monetization? DLC special mode (create a club, legend database, create a club with legend database, collab with other popular franchise like Blue Lock, Captain Tsubasa, Catenaccio football era where AI will use preferred defensive strats), in-game sponsorship advert billboard, season passes with early access to new experimental features, and many more. I don't know, i'm not getting paid to give them idea. That's their marketing / financial division job.

Now, why this cancellation is good for us, especially the players. This means the upper management know this current model FAILED. AND I'M HAPPY FOR IT. It maybe not going to change the game to my preferred direction, maybe they still make the game FM 26, 27, change the name to roman numeral, etc. But one thing for sure, WE'LL SEE CHANGES. And from these recent news, i'm optimistic we'll see a direction, that will pressurize them to make the game with passion.

Again, this is not a boycott invitation or something. This is simply my optimistic view, not a copium, etc. We should be happy for it. Rant finished. Thankyou for reading.
