For those who upgraded from a non-Mac computer, what did you upgrade from?

I upgraded from this HP Pavilion. I bought it back in January 2020. It has a 9th Gen i5, GTX 1050, 16GB Ram (I upgraded it from 8) and 512 SSD (upgraded from 256). This was the first computer I ever bought with my own money paid I believe $700 back then. I still use it as a gaming rig, but the battery has crapped itself as if I unplug it it shuts off. I still love this machine but I’m so happy to be on a MacBook now.
