[The Athletic] Mavericks trading Luka Dončić fits team’s vision and culture, Nico Harrison says
Dallas Mavericks president and general manager Nico Harrison said he “understands the magnitude” of the mega-trade he just pulled trading away Luka Dončić.
But he defended the move by insisting it improved his team’s culture.
”There are levels to it, and there are people that fit the culture and there's people that come in and add to the culture,” Harrison said.
In essence, he’s saying that the person widely considered to be the Mavericks’ franchise player didn’t add anything to the team and that by adding Anthony Davis and Max Christie, doing so benefits them more than choosing to retain Dončić.
