Why do (older) Pakistani’s like Trump?

Disclaimer : Someone’s support of trump is my litmus test of their character, values and intelligence.

The other day after the recent Washington DC crash, that included a young Pakistani woman on board sparked a conversation about Trump.

I was surprised to realise my Dad and Uncle are fully supportive of him as a leader and compare him to Imran Khan. Their reasons are ; Trumps administration supports Pakistan and Imran Khan, against the corruption Pakistan army, and he pulled America out of the Middle East so he’s a good leader.

They think the recent plane crashes are the work of the ‘CIA trying to take out Trump out of office’ via public outrage, because he’s ‘culling all the corrupt people out of government’ (never mind he’s actually creating an oligarchy of techno billionaires) just like Imran Khan. They think people who attempted to assassinate Trump is because he’s doing the right thing. And other various things like he’s a good businessman and has good morals (when he said ‘america only has two genders’).

I’m first trying to understand where they get their news from. How is there such a wide gap of difference of information. And is there any basis/articles/ evidence that support their ideas? Why are Pakistani, especially the older generation so enamoured with Trump? And is he in any way shape or form help to Pakistan and its dire current circumstances?
