What is the point of minmaxing your character and heavily investing into a build if no place showcases it?

I didn't know, but poe.ninja only displays first 15.000 characters that have hit lvl 100. If you dont extensively follow youtubers, how can you even know the possible peak of your build, and when you get there, there is nobody to see it anyway?While I find it extremely satisfactory to craft my gear and minmax my character to the fullest by investing a lot of divine orbs, its kind of demotivating knowing that unless you rush for lvl 100 and spam 5 ways, people will never get to see that effort.
This game has no progression system unlike Diablo, where main goal is to clear highest possible rift level in certain time period. One of main progressions in PoE is how well geared and optimized your character is, and to showcase your iteration of a build or even a completely new build. As far as im aware, that is not possible if you dont have a lot of time on your hands to grind to 100 early season..
