1800$ budget, NO IDEA where to start…

Hey all. I’ve been thinking about building a pc for a while and finally have the time and resources to pull the trigger and do it.

I just have no idea where to start. Have never in my life had anything to do with computers, always played on consoles so it’s really hard for me to understand anything people in YouTube videos are talking about, pcpartspicker looks like code to me, you get it. I just don’t want to waste money on any a CPU or GPU that is not worth the money or something that in the end won’t work well together, I could really use your help.

Pretty much what can I expect with a budget of 1800$ dollars, is it worth it to invest that much or should I go for a little bit more because the performance will be 10-times better if I spend a little bit more money.
