Begging

I know everyone hates begging/being chased but all I see is that behavior being rewarded. Like I stay at my stand or run around the map if I get bored but I don't chase donators around begging for a donation/guilt tripping them and yet they somehow always manage to get a donation while I can't even catch anyone's attention. What's the point in being respectful if that doesn't even matter in the end?
