My wife says she has an interview with AI

I don't know if this is a new thing that many companies are doing (I've personally not heard of it), but my wife applied at this one company and the recruiter informed her (over email) that her first round will be 'with AI over phone.' She is too clueless about what it's going to be like and the recruiter is not helpful. At this point, I'm considering the possibility its a scam and advising her not to give out PII or SSN to this mysterious AI interviewer.
