Let’s talk about these outdoor cameras

So what’s the actual deal with these outdoor cameras? Everyone on here seems to always say how horrendous the outdoor cameras are and to stay away at all costs. But are they really that bad or did I just do too much internet on these?

I’ve had a simplisafe system for about 6 months now and everything seems to be fine so far, knock wood. Id love to add some outdoor cameras but have been reluctant based on reviews - mostly what I read here. My friend has them with his system and says they’re buggy at times but have been better recently with whatever update just rolled out. “I’m sure there are better cameras out there but these are convenient with our system” we’re his words.

Id be open to another brand that’s homekit compatible, but would love to have all the security stuff tied into simplisafe if I can just for simplicity sake. Avoid more base stations other services etc…

Anyway what does everyone think? Id love to snag some black friday stuff this week if possible. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Okay with 40% off for black friday i took a leap and bought 2 for a little over $100 each. I figured with 60 day return policy and 40% off it was enough to give them a whirl. Fingers crossed. Thank you all for sharing your advice on them!
