What’s the deal with claw?

I’m fairly new to the game (Started last month, I have 40 hours.) but I see a lot of people mentioning claw on here and on videos about the game in a sort of ironic tone. Thing is, the two times I have one with defect is with a scrape + claw deck. Am I missing something about the card or am I just misunderstanding why it is or isn’t a joke?
