Stay away from Sonos?

Context: I'm getting the Arc for Christmas from Costco and was planning to return for the Ultra when they bring it to Costco. Eventually i would like to get the 100s and the sub for a more complete setup.

Reading all the complaints about the app and being an Android user, I'm wondering if I should stay away? I don't like dropping over 2k on speakers to have to turn around and fork out a monthly subscription to use them if that does indeed end up coming to fruition.

What are your thoughts? Any other recommendations for soundar, home audio setup? can't run wires, so want a more wireless setup
