How is awareness of kpop in your country?

I'm South Korean and my english may be bad because english is not my first language. I saw some foreign kpop fans criticized by Koreans because of their behaviors. After I saw the writing about them on internet, I thought they were simmilar to Koreans who are obssessed in Japanese anime or manga. I saw was bts ranking in billboard chart(I sometimes listen to kpop,so I don't know much) and foreign people liking kpop in tv. I felt something was different and I want to know what kind of people usually listen to kpop and how is the awareness of kpop in your country. Thanks.
